- The views people come for, in the right order. Up the Bailong Elevator to the Hallelujah pillar and the First Bridge Under Heaven, across to Tianzi Mountain for the long view over the whole pillar forest, then down by cable car. On the three-day tour, Tianmen Mountain’s arch and glass walkways, Golden Whip Stream between the pillars, and the 430-metre glass bridge.
- The timing done for you. Park tickets are issued by passport and by time slot, and the gates run fixed routes. We book the slots, choose the route that keeps the group ahead of the main flow, and start early enough to use it.
- A guide who speaks English and knows the valleys. Which viewpoint clears first when the cloud lifts, where to stand for the pillar in the film, where the quiet side of a platform is, and where to eat on the mountain.
- Nothing to buy at the gate. Entrance tickets, shuttle buses, the elevator, the cable car, the park train and, on the three-day tour, Tianmen Mountain and the glass bridge are all paid. The only extras are optional and small.
- Ten people at most. Enough to share the cost of a guide and a car, few enough to stop for a photograph without asking.
How the tours work
- Fixed departures. The three-day tour leaves Wulingyuan town every Monday and Thursday at 08:00; the day tour leaves every day at 08:00. You join a group rather than hire a private guide, which is what keeps the price where it is.
- Small groups. Never more than ten people. The three-day tour runs with four or more, the day tour with six or more.
- Everything in the price. Guide, vehicle, every scenic-area ticket and every lift, cable car, shuttle bus and park train on the route. On the three-day tour, two hotel nights with breakfast as well. The only things paid at the gate are optional: the ¥32 escalator up to Tianmen Cave and the ¥5 shoe covers for the glass walkways.
- An English-speaking licensed guide for the whole tour. Guides on these tours have done first-aid training and know where the nearest clinics are in Wulingyuan and the city.
- Booking by email. Write to [email protected] with your date, the number of people and the names on your passports (park tickets are issued by name). We confirm by email and send a payment link.
Who runs them
The same people who write and check this guide, based in Wulingyuan town. The guide pages stay what they are: no advertising, no affiliate links, prices quoted as the scenic areas publish them. The tour pages are the only pages on this site that sell anything, and they say so.
Dates we do not run
No departures 1–7 October (China’s National Day week) or in the week around Chinese New Year (6 February 2027). Hotel prices double and the park is at its busiest; it is not a good time to see it.
Ticket prices and opening arrangements last checked October 2026. They change; the tour price does not.
Quick answers
Are these private tours?
No. They are small-group tours with fixed departure days, ten people at most. If you want a private guide and your own itinerary, the guide pages on this site will help you plan it.
Is the guide English-speaking?
Yes. Every departure is led by a licensed guide who works in English.
What is not included?
Lunches and dinners, which you choose and pay for yourself (about ¥30–60 a meal in the park), optional extras such as the Tianmen Cave escalator (¥32) and glass-walkway shoe covers (¥5), and transfers from the city, airport or railway station to Wulingyuan town.
How do I pay?
By a card-payment link we send after confirming your places (a 3% card fee applies) or by Alipay. Prices are in US dollars; payments in Chinese yuan are converted at the rate on the day.
